We’ve all been there. It’s usually after lunch time and you begin to feel lethargic; like you could take a nap right there at your desk. It becomes difficult to focus and get your work done. Don’t let this feeling become a habit at work. We share five great tips for maintaining your concentration and being the most productive you can possibly be!
Organize your work area
It’s easy to get discouraged and unmotivated when you can’t find what you’re looking for amidst the clutter on your desk. Arrange your desk in way so that your phone is easily accessible, you have a notepad and pen always within reach, and your computer screen is at a level comfortable for you.
Keep a daily to-do list nearby
When you know exactly what needs to be accomplished during your work day, chances are you’ll be more motivated to get them done. Keep a list in front of you and check off tasks as you complete them. It will be fulfilling and motivating!
Plug in those headphones
Oftentimes, listening to music helps you “tune in” to whatever task you’re working on. Nowadays, there are all sorts of playlists you can find that are specific to helping you focus and be creative.
Keep healthy snacks and water nearby
We all need an afternoon pick-me-up sometimes and the best way to do that is to stay hydrated and snack on something healthy like fruits and vegetables. It will also keep you from leaving your desk to grab food and potentially get distracted!
Plan “invisible” time
If there’s a task you know you need to focus your attention on for a while, set up your email and your chat features so that you’re “invisible” to others. This way, you won’t get notifications of emails or chats and you’ll be able to focus on the task at hand.
